Today, Jean Paul Tolkowsky continues the family legacy presenting a line of jewelry, the Cut By Tolkowsky Collection. The line consists of rings, earrings, pendants, and bracelets, each in a unique handcrafted setting enabling the diamond to be seen from all angles.
HEARTS & ARROWS
The Tolkowsky Ideal cut has 58 facets of perfectly identical proportions. It is a round brilliant diamond respecting the parameters established by Marcel Tolkowsky in 1919, considered the benchmark in the industry today. In fact, this is the only round shaped diamond perfect in Symmetry, Cut, Polish and allowing the brilliance to radiate from within the stone. All the Tolkowsky diamonds proudly display the 8 Hearts and 8 Arrows associated with the most perfectly ideal cut diamonds.
Capturing the perfection of the cut, the Hearts & Arrows optical effect represents the reflection of the light inside a diamond of perfect symmetry and proportions as well as the long creation process at our factory. CERTIFICATES
Every Tolkowsky Ideal Cut diamond is accompanied by a ‘Certificate of Authenticity’. Each diamond is meticulously inspected to ensure that the highest quality of manufacturing has been maintained, as well as guaranteeing each stone’s perfection and authenticity. This certificate includes a Tolkowsky pledge that the diamonds are natural and conflict-free. In addition each Tolkowsky Ideal Cut diamond one carat and larger will be accompanied by an official birth certificate indicating the original rough weight (before polishing), origin, and the date of manufacturing. The Tolkowsky legacy began in the early 1800’s with a young jeweler, Abraham Tolkowsky attracting attention from the nobility of the time with his perfectly set jewelry. Maurice, Abraham’s son established the family in Antwerp and invented the diamond bruting machine, which makes a diamond round, while his brother Sam would become the first president of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse. Their nephew, Marcel Tolkowsky would revolutionize the business in 1919 with his these ‘Diamond Design’, defining the parameters for an Ideal cut diamond. Later that century, Gabi Tolkowsky and his son Jean Paul would be part of a team of master diamond cutters responsible for creating and cutting two of the world’s most precious gems, the Centenary Diamond and the Golden Jubilee.
